Not every assignment starts with a known object. Sometimes the client only knows that something is missing, sunk or in need of investigation. Ocean Discovery has three decades of experience with systematic seabed search using side scan sonar — and has contributed to more than 120 wreck discoveries in the Baltic, including Mars Makalös in 2011 after two decades of searching.

Search and investigation assignments combine wide-area survey (side scan, multibeam) with detailed ROV inspection and photogrammetric documentation of identified objects. The result is a complete investigation record — what's there, what it is, and how it got there.
