Hazardous Wreck Survey

Hazardous wrecks contain fuel, oil, and chemicals that can leak and damage sensitive marine ecosystems. Ocean Discovery carried out 3D scanning and inspection of several priority wrecks along the Swedish coast on behalf of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (HaV).

The assignment covered the wrecks Nynäs, Harburg, and Mundogas — three vessels whose cargo residues pose a potential environmental risk. Using ROV and photogrammetry, the team documented the exterior condition of each wreck, including cracks and openings in the hull and any visible leakage. Results were delivered as geo-referenced 3D models and inspection reports to support risk assessment and action planning.
